One of the things that came up for me when I was talking with photographers interviewing for the Breakthrough course, is that they wanted to spend more time with family/friends.
 
I was expecting people to want to be focused on making more profit, getting more leads, growing their businesses...
 

But I was quietly pleased when most people just wanted a better quality life and more time with those they loved.

And I can so relate to this, after missing so many "big" occasions in my early career, because I said yes to work and no to life.

Let's face it, there are so many tips out there to help virtual businesses to prioritize working less and living the ideal life, so why can't we translate this into traditional service businesses?

More holidays, more family time and just more time for yourself are some of the few things we often put on the back burner when building a business.

And even more so for creatives, as we immerse so much of "ourselves" into the experience and product, it is hard to shut off and just "be" sometimes.
